Whether your IT department has implemented basic security measures such dual factor authentication, next anti-virus, and/or endpoint DNS protection (in addition to tight policies and employee training) - or even if there is advanced threat detection and monitoring in place - it is still up to you as the end user and responsible actor to stop and think before you click. But the rising use of the tactic warrants extra vigilance. Infected OneNote files not radically different from other kinds of file-based malware you’d receive in your inbox. By now, many of you have probably heard about the debacle in Las Vegas that is currently playing out.
